Every so often we get word of an upcoming title in development for the Xbox Indie Games marketplace that makes us sit up and take special notice. The last title that did this was Masters of Belial, for raising the visual graphics bar on the XBLIG platform.
The next title to have this impact is Glim: The Shards of Dissent, a Steampunk-inspired racer 3D video game being developed for Xbox Indie Games by the good people at Bouncing Squid. The basic game-play involves players collecting the material known as “glim” in order to do tricks to fuel their kinetic cart, reach maximum speeds to set a record time at the finish line.
While the game is still said to be in early development, Bouncing Squid has the title slated for release in the fall of 2010.
Check out the teaser trailer that shows off some early game-play showcasing some of the levels and trick mechanics.
